Thanks for mentioning Your Members. I'm not here to tell you how good it is (even though it is good, but then I was a YM user who liked the way they worked so much, I applied for and got a job with them), but you may like to you it now has it's own website at http://www.yourmembers.co.uk rather that the rather outdated NewMedias site which you link to.

I have tried in vain to use Suma. It *looks* like a decent product with an impressive feature list, but getting it to work was just too damn difficult.

Essentially there is no user-community around the product, and documentation is thin on the ground - particularly for working examples.

Therefore, the only way to get help is to contact the developer (Brenton Camac) directly. Clearly he is a one-man band and cannot cope, so requests simply go unanswered.

I tried for many months to get the product to work (issues with our PHP installation) and even persevered with customisation, but to no avail. I finally gave up bashing my head against a brick wall and I am in the process of evaluating WishList Member...

Suma customer support was hopeless and I felt like I had been taken for a ride. I've since switched to WP-member and it's a much better application.

I'm a happy DAP user, and I think the big difference about DAP is it can work in or out of WordPress, but acts like a plugin with it's dashboard integrated inside the WP admin.

It has a built in affiliate tracker, and provides for multiple products, protects content (both pages and posts, plus other pages on the same domain outside of Wordpress - this is a feature I really love).

Most importantly I think, as we give Ravi suggestions for new features, he is able to integrate the good ones quickly.

Hi,

I'm the developer of a Membership Plugin for WordPress, at http://DigitalAccessPass.com .

Something really worth considering before you decide on any one membership software.

Note for blog owner: If you would like to include my software in your list above, I can make you an affiliate, and you can use your affiliate link.

Thanks!

Though it seems MemberWing has no support for autoresponders like aWeber or GetResponse Plus. I've emailed them and awaiting their answer.

WishList offers autoresponder integration... a big plus.

Now, I have no preference in any membership site solution. I am not from MemberWing or from any of those membership site plugin listed up there.

But reading your comment, something bothers me...

Were you unsure about how to charge the customers?

Definitely you will need some way to accept payments, unless you are creating a free membership site. If you want a free membership site, you should've gone with option #2. And I don't know any software developer that has that built-in. You will always need something like Paypal or 2CheckOut or an Internet merchant account or something. The software company will always have integration solutions though... but they are not the bank or the financial institution that can easily take money from you credit card or bank account.

If you want something like that, then find a financial institution that creates membership site solution... or at least, I think they are some hosted solutions that can accept payments on your behalf. Go Google...

So in this case, I think you should've decided on what payment solution to use and find a script/plugin that supports them. It clearly says they support PayDotCom, e-Junkie and Paypal. I don't see anything else mentioned on their website... and if you are unsure, you could've asked them beforehand. They didn't say they support 2Checkout. They didn't say they support merchant accounts or Authorize.NET.

The thing that bothers me the most though is this ... you claim that they didn't deliver their promise. From you case, I don't see that...
